Chilgoza pine or neoza, is a pine native to the northern and northwestern Himalayas in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, growing at elevations between 2000m to 3400 metres. In India Chilgoza trees mostly found and grow in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, India.The seeds are locally called and marketed as chilgoza or Neoza. Chilgoza is one of the most important cash crops of tribal people residing in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The seed is very expensive and fetches good money to the local people in Kinnaur, sold at approximately 1500-2500 per kilogram.
